The Chicago White Sox have placed star outfielder Luis Robert on the 10-day Injured List due to him suffering from flu-like symptoms.

For Chicago White Sox fans hoping to see Luis Robert try and leave the yard at the ballpark, that’s unfortunately going to be put on hold for a little while. That’s because it was announced on Tuesday that the star outfielder is headed to the 10-day Injured List.

Robert revealed that he was dealing with flu-like symptoms, which has resulted in his trip to the IL. With there always going to be a concern regarding the coronavirus too, the White Sox are being sure to take the proper precautions and not risk anything with Robert here.

Luis Robert is headed to the Injured List with flu-like symptoms

“As a precaution, we are placing Robert on the IL until we receive results from further testing,” general manager Rick Hahn said via a team statement. “As was the case earlier this month with [right-hander] Dylan Cease, our hope is that his symptoms resolve quickly and that the testing protocols clear him to return to the active roster soon.”

Again, the team wants to be extremely careful with Robert. The last thing anyone would want is for him to be around other players and end up getting them sick. Imagine if Robert actually has COVID-19 and then he spreads it to the rest of the team?

With this, it’s best to keep him away from the clubhouse until all the tests are confirmed and he’s all set to return to action. Thus far this season, the Cuban standout is hitting .305, with one homer and six RBI. Once he’s cleared and feeling better, he’ll look to keep things going with his hot bat.
