MLB has reportedly found its new location for the 2021 All-Star Game.

MLB made the decision to move the 2021 All-Star Game out of Atlanta because of Georgia’s new bill that is widely seen as one restricting voting rights in the state.

The event is only a few months away, and the league needed a new site. Several top options stood out, and it appears the game will be played in some high altitude this summer.

Denver reportedly set to host 2021 MLB All-Star Game

ESPN’s Buster Olney also shared what Denver sports reporter Vic Lombardi reported on Twitter.

Denver last hosted the All-Star Game in 1998 and was due to host again soon. Texas could have been another option, but the state’s governor said he is refusing to host any MLB events for now. Thus, Colorado benefits.

By the time we reach July, there should be looser rules regarding capacity at Coors Field and around MLB in general. So while the game could have been surrounded with controversy, heading to Denver is a much better alternative.

The fallout from the move is not going to go away. However, MLB had the right to do what they did and had the support from plenty of players as well. Just like a state can pass a law, MLB can take its business elsewhere because of said law.

Cleveland hosted the last All-Star Game after the 2020 event, scheduled for Los Angeles, was canceled. Now Southern California gets the 2022 All-Star Game. Atlanta getting the game again may depend on how long this new voting bill remains in effect.
