The New York Mets are using spring training to visualize winning the World Series.

Spring is a time for hope and renewal and the New York Mets have taken that to heart in spring training.

The Mets are arguably the team to beat in the N.L. East after trading for Francisco Lindor and Carlos Carasco this winter and signing Marcus Stroman in free agency. Adding to the nucleus that includes perennial Cy Young contender Jacob deGrom and emerging superstar Pete Alonso is why the fans are as optimistic about the fate of their favorite baseball team in the last few years.

During Wednesday’s spring training workouts, the Mets simulated recording the final out to win the World Series. No, seriously.

New York Mets are prepared in case they win the World Series

Mets manager Luis Rojas said the team was playing the 27 outs game where you record 27 consecutive outs without committing an error. He didn’t specifically say the team was manifesting winning their first World Series since 1986, but the reactions from the players on the field says it all.

If the Mets end up winning the pennant for the first time since 2015 and end up winning the World Series, you can expect to see every MLB team doing this drill in spring training next year.
