The Boston Red Sox released a farewell tribute to Jackie Bradley Jr. on Monday, when his deal with the Milwaukee Brewers became official.

The 2020 season turned out to be outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr’s last as a member of the Boston Red Sox organization. After hitting free agency and weighing his options for a number of months, Bradley decided to sign a two-year, $24 million contract with the Milwaukee Brewers.

On Monday, Bradley’s deal with the Brewers became official. Shortly after the announcement was made, the Red Sox’s official Twitter account sent out a farewell video to their centerfielder of eight-years.

Red Sox: Bradley played a pivotal role in the organization’s success in the past decade

Bradley joined the Red Sox in 2011 as a Compensation A draft pick out of South Carolina. His path to the majors did not take long, as he was named the starting left fielder for the Red Sox’s Opening Day in 2013. From there, the rest is history.

In 2016, Bradley made the All-Star team after an impressive first-half of the season. Prior to the break, the outfielder was slashing .296/.378/.548 with 14 home runs and 55 RBI. Perhaps his biggest impact on the field was during the 2018 ALCS against the Houston Astros. While Bradley only batted .200 in that series, he made up for it with a .400 on-base percentage and a .667 slugging percentage while also recording two home runs and nine RBI in five games. As a result, Bradley was named the ALCS MVP. The Red Sox would go on to defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers to win the first World Series of his career.

Through his eight years in Boston, Bradley accumulated a .239 batting average, a .739 OPS, 98 home runs and 376 RBI. Bradley also has one Gold Glove on his resume (2018).

While his time with the Red Sox has reached it’s end, they wanted to send a heartfelt thank you to Bradley as he begins the next step of his career in Milwaukee.
